My mom keeps buying freaking frozen dinners?

I keep telling her how unhealthy this crap is yet she continues to buy these stupid frozen pizzas and hotpocket crap. She thinks just because these damn hotpockets say they have broccoli or whatever in them that they are healthy. NONE OF IT IS. Does anyone here have any facts or stats I can use to scare her out of it? Any comparisons or something m, she just doesn't get it and already isn't the most fit person in the family. I'm just frustrated at this point and she actually takes offense when I say it's unhealthy and tells me "well you don't have to eat it" so yeah sweet talking is not going to work. Reading the nutrition table to her won't work im not the most informed expert at eating either so I just need some comparisons to get her visually to understand. For example something like 1 hotpocket is as fattening as a large cake. I know that's not true but it's the kinda extreme I'm looking for here. Thanks. My mom keeps buying freaking frozen dinners?
So go buy your own food if you don't like what she is buying.
Perhaps a more constructive (and tastier) approach would be to offer to take over the shopping and cooking for a week; or at least to make the lists for your mum to buy, and to do the cooking. Should save a bit of money too, unless you live in one of those crazy places where junk is cheaper than fresh stuff.

also look up the recommended nutrition information; protein, fat, carbs etc.My mom keeps buying freaking frozen dinners?
Everything is healthy if its eaten in limit. Try a lean pocket. 1 of those is like 300 calories. that could be 1 meal.

Cereal and milk for breakfast 300 cals

1 hot pocket for lunch 300 cals

1 individual frozen pizza 500 cals

1100 cals for the day.

Maybe your mother isn't financially stable? most frozen foods are cheaper than fresher veggies and fruits.

Just make sure she or you work out daily. Good luck.
Tell her they have carcinogens in them.

or just simply say they make you sick.

or just stop eating them. If you hate them that much then a little hunger will help you in the long run if it gets them out of your diet for good. If you get too hungry then just find something else to eat (if possible). My mom keeps buying freaking frozen dinners?
well shes prolly doing it cuz alot of healthy foods are expensive... try having her buy some frozen veggies or the frozen dinners that are for diets and healthy..
There is the vegetarian Hot Pocket for those of us who don't want to eat meat, but would still like diarrhea.
Most frozen meals like that are packed with chemicals that are not good for you.

Enriched flour-Stripped of all nutrition. Not healthy.

Natural and Artificial Flavor - This is another word for chemicals and MSG. MSG is very harmful to the body especially the brain.

The amount of unhealthy fat, carbs and calories is astronomical.

I'm not sure how old you are but if you have a way to earn money you can always start buying some healthy foods on your own.

Sometimes parents have a hard time being a good example because they aren't informed and that's what makes them so sensitive when you explain the health facts to them. They need to get educated too. Maybe there's a cool video out there you could show them.

Be respectful to your parents but stay strong, stay informed and eat as healthy as you possibly can.
Your comparison of a hot pocket versus a piece of cake is actually true.I found the calories and fat on a hot pocket here:

http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-h鈥?/a>

Then I found how calories on a Ruby tuesday tall chocolate cake and it has 605 cal., 21 g fat while the hot pocket has 735 calories and 35.3 grams of fat along with an overdose of sodium and cholesterol.
