How do I get my Sims 2 Game to recognize my Neighborhood files?

My game decided to take two of my custom neighborhoods off the main menu after I got about four houses in each. I've tried a lot; making a new Sims 2 File, renaming the files in the neighborhood folder, putting the lots and characters files in other neighborhood folders, etc., but nothing works. I have the files, yet the game does not seem to notice them. Can someone help?How do I get my Sims 2 Game to recognize my Neighborhood files?What do you mean by "game decided"? Maybe you deleted neighborhoods accidentally? If you did, you can't get them back. Were you using some cheats in game? That can be cause too.
