What are the odds of a baseball game lasting 18 innings and ending in a 1-0 score?

I attended a minor league baseball game in Augusta, GA last Sunday that ended with the home team scoring a single run in the bottom of the 18th to win 1-0. I was trying to estimate the odds of a game both lasting that long, and ending with that score. Any guesses? What are the odds of a baseball game lasting 18 innings and ending in a 1-0 score? We can sort this out empirically.

Here's information on MLB games, 1960-2009, 50 seasons' worth of games.

In that time, MLB played 101,989 games.

Of those, six went 18 innings or more and ended with a 1-0 final.

Two of those six went exactly 18 innings.

Doing the math shows that 0.006% of games went 18+ innings and ended 1-0 (or, 0.002% went exactly 18 innings and ended 1-0).

So, yeah, odds are pretty long against that sort of thing.
