My friend has an obsession with 9/11?

My friend Sean is very obsessed with people falling from the world trade center, he finds it comical to draw people falling from it and making jokes such as "What kind of pizzas were last ordered from the world trade center?? Two plains!!"

He told this at our family reunion and his grandmother nearly had a heart attack. Shocked and appalled I quickly removed him from the room.

Recently he has had the obsession with our other friend, Bridget, also known as Teagues, falling from the buildings whilst he eats pizza. Even going to the extreme lengths of drawing her falling from it.

I find his obsession childish and unfunny, 9/11 jokes are so 2 years ago. Nobody even cares about it enough to be offended by it anymore, and its really ruining my social status by hanging around with him. Here's one of his drawings:

Should I ditch him for a sweet new ride? Or should I wait it out and gamble that he gets better?My friend has an obsession with 9/11?
Slap him as hard as you can a few times, and tell him to stop. Tell him it's old news, and he's just coming off as annoying and uncaring. Get it into his head that because of that men and women are fighting and dying so that something like that never can happen to him, and he can live in comfort for the rest of his ignorance-filled life.
Tell him that 2000 or 3000 (can't remember)people died on 9/11

and that he is a ****** up lil cow for even making jokes about something so terrible that happened in the u.s

heres a thought POST THIS IN THE RIGHT SECTION PLZ and also im a strong believer that if you cant EVENTUALLY laugh and make fun of something its not worth remembering. sure its okay to make a joke about it obsessing not so much.

Well obviously 9/11 is going to be over in the next couple hours. Also i would wait it it out maybe 2 more days if it still keeps going on, if he is just so obsessed about it and STILL does it, like 2 weeks after and on, just tell him to stop it, it's not funny and embarassing to you. I wouldnt not be his friend because everybody has there own twinks and you cant let that get in the way of a friend ship. Besides, if hes your friend he'll understand if you talk to him about it. Same goes for the other friend. :)

EDIT: .鈥?鈾鈾?鈥?.. is also very right, to many poeple it would be offensive and is'nt a joking matter. Ask him this, "How does alot of people dieng, make you laugh?" If his reaction is puzzled then he gets the points if he just says "it's funny!" then you have one crazy friend....
9/11 is nothing to joke about...i say leave him. he obviously doesn't understand boundaries and that some people could take major offense. it was awful that it happened (no words to describe how terrible) and it is almost just as bad that people like him are making JOKES about it! does he even know what happened? because i seriously doubt it. if he knew the pain it caused so many people, then he wouldn't be joking. and that picture? that's just...sad. im sorry if this offends you but people should never joke about that. i feel for every single person that had to experience that, and even more so for their families. you should let him know that he is not funny, was probably never funny, and needs to watch what he says around people because not everyone is very tolerant...
