I used to eat plenty of fiber/whole grains, but due to lack of availability, I don't as much anymore. Though I still try. I also used to eat a lot of cereal (and still somewhat do) and eat a fair amount of carbs (including sugars - I eat a 160-calorie, 12 grams sugar oatmeal every day), protein, and nuts (particularly almonds and honey roasted peanuts). I feel extreme hunger pangs a lot, and drink a lot of water to help fill me up (not so much because I'm thirsty - I actually don't get thirsty that easily).
I can get rather full with just a small meal + a lot of water, but sometimes I get hungry again an hour later. It may be because I drink a lot of water, but I urinate about anywhere from every 1-2 hours, depending on how much water I drink. Rarely, not for a few hours. Usually at the same times of day, too (at least on school days). And in the middle of the night every night, I wake up and have to urinate. I also don't defecate that often (although I do almost every day).
I have very bad far vision, but my near vision isn't very blurred at all. My focus easily wanders, and I have selective memory.
My wounds heal rather quickly, but the scabs take very long to shed, or sometimes not at all.
I also exercise a lot (about 1 hr 30 min - 1 hr 45 min on Wii Fit Plus, and occasionally more, every day, burning about 450 calories each exercise session). I weigh about 155 pounds at 5'6".
My main diet, as of now, consists of the following:
-Lean meats (i.e. fat free hot dogs)
-Fruits (especially apples and bananas)
-Nuts
-Oatmeal (quite often with cocoa and Splenda)
-Wheat/anything with whole grains
-Hot tea (2-3 times a day, one cup with Splenda)
I stay away from eating any of the following:
-Pizza (unless it's Lean Cuisine or one of Dominoes' lighter options)
-Candy (unless it's sugar free)
-Too much nuts in one sitting (I eat about half an ounce for lunch and sometimes for breakfast, snack, and dinner every day)
-Anything with too much fat or sugars
I also take Spring Valley Super B Complex vitamins as a supplement. I don't usually avoid eating too many carbs, unless they're sugars.
My mother's side of the family has a history of high blood pressure, and I think my father's side has a history of low blood pressure. My dad is also obese, although I don't know about his family history.
Would continuing my current diet (especially eating a lot of fruits) put me at risk for diabetes? Do I possibly have it as of now? Or do I have something else?Could I possibly have diabetes/hyperglycemia? Something else?
it depends on how long you've had these symptoms. if you've had it for more than a month than it can't be diabetes. if it has just started go to a doctor. It might be just nothing too. so just go to a doctor and be tested for diabetesCould I possibly have diabetes/hyperglycemia? Something else?
I always get really hungry when I eat with someone doing the LOW FAT diet plan with loads of those nasty complex carbs in it.
Grains and cereals are complex carbs and will cause lots of problems for someone who may be compromised on the diabetes side of life. I rarely touch a slice of bread other than half slice at breakfast. Whole grain is the same as white when it comes to spiking the glucose.
A person can get sufficient fiber from eating VEGETABLES, which I don't see in your food plan. Green beans, lettuce, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts,
A lack of fats in the food plan guarantees severe hunger pangs about an hour after eating.
If you are really concerned about your food plan, health in general, and diabetes or hypertension, go see your family doctor!! Make an appointment or have your mother do it for you, for a complete physical exam including blood panel draws. This will set your mind at ease. And you need to do follow up each and every year!! Please do not ignore these warning signs.
