Have you ever used restaurant.com? This deal I just got sounds too good to be true. Please tell me its legit!?
I just ordered my first discounted gift certificates for local restaurants from there. ( http://cobrand.restaurant.com/index.asp?… ) I have heard of the site before. They advertise on local radio (CT) and there was a link to it in my weekly email from "Borders Reward Perks." When I checked it out it showed what I expected... the certificates had restrictions and your bill had to come to a certain amount before you could put the certificate towards it and it sometims couldn't be weekend nights... that sort of thing. But when I clicked on a restaurant to see what it was going to charge me it calculated it at 80% off! I am a strong believer in the "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" theory, however, I ended up purchasing about 8 gift certificates for values from $10 - $25 dollars each and my total came to $7.60! Like I said, they have restrictions on them; for example I got 4 $10 gift certificates to one of my local pizza/grinder/Italian shops. They have to be used one at a time, only Sunday through Thursday and the bill has to be at least $20.00. That's completely do-able for a restaurant that I go to all the time. I ordered the certificates and was able to print them immediately and each has its own restrictions and its own Certificate/ID/Confirmation number (Whatever you want to call it). I am guessing this extreme discount was because it is the last day of the month but I'm not sure.
Has anyone used this site before? Did I just get scammed? (I'm assuming Borders Books Store would not promote a scam... right? Also it was a secure site and I confirmed it through the BBB. What do you think?Have you ever used restaurant.com? This deal I just got sounds too good to be true. Please tell me its legit!?
Totally legit!! I have the same thing through Border's rewards. Last time they had the promotion, I did the same thing! I have redeemed a few of them, and had no problems!!
ETA: Kind of off subject but...I just got an email from Border's saying that I had gotten my $5.00 border bucks. In the corner of the email was a special offer code for 150 FREE prints from shutterfly...you just have to pay shipping!! Check your email!Have you ever used restaurant.com? I use restaurant.com all the time and you can get a good deal when they have the 80% off promotion. Don't worry, the restrictions are what helps the restaurant guarantee a profit when you use the coupon. So the deal is not really "too good, to be true." Nonetheless, we as the consumer, still get a good deals and you will still end up spending more than you think after tips and tax are calculated.
