(You may want to read the last question I asked before this, but its not totally neccesary)
So anyway, I'm 5'8 and at the moment im 126 lbs. I lost about 10 lbs in a month. I have been going through periods of starving myself (i eat about 400-600 calories on these days) and then i binge! I can't control it and i absolutely hate it! I loved the feeling of being hungry and light and in control for the first couple weeks, but after the first time I binged, its getting harder. Instead of looking forward to losing weight, i started drooling over the thought of my next binge! I HATE IT! When i binged today i had: 2 pieces of pizza, 1 cheeseburger, 1 corndog, some cinnamon cake, a bottle of orange juice ALL for lunch. I spent 20 dollars! After school i had a chicken potpie, 2 cookies, a bunch of chocolate, a rice krispy, and a yogurt during the evening. Not all at once, but throughout the evening. I feel so fat and ugly now that i felt like slapping myself in the face after lunch and i almost burst into tears during class. At first, i would only have two days of bingeing between 5 days of starving, but the starving days are getting shorter and the last time i binged, it was for FOUR DAYS!! The self hate was the most intense today. I only dieted for two days this time, and couldnt resist. To be honest i didnt try that hard. I just kinda gave in. I wanted to make myself puke desperately, but didnt want to get caught and because i know my body digested half the calories in all the food already.
My question is, how do i RESIST those food cravings successfully? My friends are starting to notice and so are my teachers and the lunch ladies. I just cant spend 20 dollars on food for lunch ever! Im getting scared. I Desperately need to stop. My personality is like an all or nothing, either i diet to the extreme or eat to the extreme, and id rather diet in extreme. PLEASE HELP, IM SO SCARED OF BINGEING RIGHT NOW :'(How can I stop giving in to cravings and bingeing all the time?
Sounds like you're steadily getting into overweight lane?
Not binge-eating is just self-restraint, not much else around it. Just always look at it this way: Food isn't your enemy but you're not in olden times. There's no need to fill up on food, it's not leaving you. Please think of the long-term.
If I were you, just start reading you're ingredients list and counting calories. That puts things into perspective and encourages a healthier lifestyle. Drinking a glass of water before and after you eat is also good because it helps you understand how full you really are. A lot of times you might be thirsty rather than hungry.
I've lost 30 pounds like this so give it a go?How can I stop giving in to cravings and bingeing all the time?
I would eat about 600 cal daily too and iwould burn off 500 with exercise. I wouldnt starve myself and i controlled myself with junks. I dont eat junks i control myself with them whenever i want a snack or something tasty i enjoy a special K bar, a yoghurt, some carrots with lemon etc. I now exercise less and eat more. :D good luckHow can I stop giving in to cravings and bingeing all the time?
I know exactly why. You're not suppose to be starving yourself, that's the cause of your binging. That's why I don't understand why people set themselves up for failure. When you lack calories, you don't have breathing room and that's just going to make you go crazy one day and gain double the pounds back, it's not the way to lose weight. You cannot stop your urges simply because your body and mind is forcing you to eat one way or the other. Simple solution, stop starving yourself, eat around 1600 calories a day, space out your meals, drink plenty of water, and get active once in a while and I GUARANTEE the binging will stop.
your doing this all wrong, first of all stop starving yourself. What happens is your body goes into starvation mode and instantly your metabolism slows to a crawl and you start craving anything and everything, so it will never work in the the run for you. you may get down to 115lbs but you gain the weight back extremely fast. Faster then losing it. start to eat at a minimum 1200- 1500 calories a day and burn off with exercise around 500. Eat lean high protein cuts of meat, eat fish, fruits and vegetables, anything healthy. to help your cravings let yourself have a treat everyday. set aside 100 or 200 calories for a treat (mini chocolate bar, little bowl of ice cream etc.) I hope I helped a little bit
