Hi,
I'm 13 and getting a bit on the chubby side.. I went out to get pizza with my friend for dinner and while eating, I saw a nutritional facts sheet on the wall. It said 16g of fat and 275 calories or something like that. Per slice. I knew pizza wasn't good for you but that shocked me considering I had 3 slices. So we left the pizza place and got on our bikes and headed home. While biking we were talking about eating healthy so I said I was going to ask my mom about some tips. He said that he knows a diet which is No sugar no wheat but that seems extreme for a 13 year old considering I'm still growing. What are some good tips to lose weight? I made up an exercise schedule. Go to the gym after school Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And jog every evening (probably around 7 after my homework). Sometimes I bike to school so I want to do that more. But I was talking about this with my friend but I don't think my friend is very serious about this. I weigh 149, and he weighs around 180 so he's a lot bigger than me. So I think I'm kind of alone on this exercise/healthy eating thing. Anyways,
My question is:
What are some healthy foods I can eat. (I want to eat full meals because I'm still growing, but nothing filled with fat.)
How often should I work out?
Should I just workout on my own and not expect much from my friend?
Cheers,

Eat a diet comprised more in protein and healthy fats and try to restrict processed carbs (sugar, bread, pasta, rice, etc).
Healthy protein sources- Lean meats such as chicken/fish, nuts
Healthy fat sources- Nuts, olive oil, fish, avocado, etc.
Healthy carb sources- Fiberous vegetables, nuts, most fruits.
Don't need to cut stuff out entirely, just try to eat more of the above items and less of the regular items.
At your age you shouldn't be lifting heavy weights (or at least that's how I was always taught). When you work out focus on weight ranges where you can do 20-30 reps before getting tired, don't go for the 5-15 range. You're young so your body should recover quickly. Workout as often as you feel you can, if you're tired/sore take the day off. Injuries and over-training are bad.
Regarding working out with a friend... it is nice but you don't NEED him to work out. Get comfortable working out by yourself or with a friend. As you get older friends will be nice for spotting you on certain types of lifts but at your age you shouldn't be doing these lifts for the most part.
Grab some dumb bells and have at it.
You seem to be doing the right things for the most part in the exercise department, I don't know your workout routine but I'll assume you have some idea what you're doing (even if it is not much).
Just keep it up and try to replace as much sugar/bread/rice/pasta in your diet to healthy fats, protein or veggies.

drink only water and do cardio everyday. for 30 mintues at least.
Healthy foods you can eat: vegetables, fruit, wholegrains (such as bread and cereal), nuts (small amounts), chicken, turkey (good protein for both), eggs, tuna... The list goes on.
How often should you work out? Everyday IF possible. If not, then 4-5 times a week.
It is good to workout with a friend because you're more likely to be motivated, but it depends on the individual. Personally, I workout on my own, sometimes with my mum. But most of the time, it is just me.
Here are some other weight loss tips:
1. If you mess up with your diet, get back on track as soon as possible.
2. Green tea boosts your metabolism, have 4-5 cups a day to make a difference.
3. Keep active during the day (such as your bike riding, and walking everywhere you can) to burn extra calories and thus speed up your results.
4. Have a high-fiber diet. Protein is also great, especially if you want to support muscle growth.
5. Do weight training 3-4 times a week, this will burn fat and build muscle.
6. DON'T give UP. You will be able to do this, but KEEP at it.
Hope this helped and good luck! What are some weight loss tips?
You should have balanced diet. You should not have oily food. You should have cholestrol free food because cholestrol causes heartattack and high blood pressure. You should have nutritative food like green vegetables, fruits. You should not have junk food like noodles, pizza, burger mostly in night time. You should have fruits like which contains protein, minerals and vitamins, these all things help to protect our body from various diseases and maintained temperature of our body.
