Bipolar teen or depressed?

Right now Im going through another horrible mood, extremely depressed. Im 16 and throughout the course of a day I can be anywhere from overly happy, content, to feeling like blowing my headoff. Usually I do feel more depressed than happy though. I also can get moods of extreme energy then 2 hours later extreme depression and lazyness. I was wondering if I could be bipolar. Depression does run in the family, 2 people killed themselves in my family....and my grandpa would be depressed every winter yet happy every summer and may have been bipolar. But then again...I have an AWFUL diet, mcdonalds, pizza, tons of soda chocolate, candy, etc. Haven't had vegetables or anything reasonably healthy in 3 years. I also load up on caffeine, have barely any sleep and sometimes am very paranoid and have high anxiety. So I was wondering if these things could be why and not being bipolar?Bipolar teen or depressed?
Sounds to me like you need much more knowledgeable information than you're going to get here. Talk to a counsellor at the very least.

And yeah, you know your diet is a problem so change it. Try to get in as much fresh fruit and vegetables as you can. It seems you're way to overloaded with sugar and carbs.
I really doubt that you're bipolar. You might be depressed, but then again, you're 16 and you're stoking yourself up on caffeine so you don't sleep. Try changing your eating habits, and getting more sleep and see if that improves your problem. Bipolar symptoms are much more severe than you're describing. Normal mood changes are not the same as the mood swings that come with bipolar disorder. If you're grandfather got depressed in the winter it was probably seasonal affective disorder. Basically that comes from the lack of daylight in the winter months.Bipolar teen or depressed?
Theres an old saying Early to bed early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise. So you should start with better sleeping habits and you should also start taking vitamins especially vitamin D mental health problems run in my family and most of them are on meds I went to the Doc and he just put me on vitamin D and exercise and I feel better than I have in 15 years it also help with skin problems I have. Hope this helps
It's highly likely that you're a manic-depressive, or bipolar. Try talking to a counselor at your school about this and see if they can get you in touch with a psychiatrist.

Try changing your diet, too. Poor diets wreck havoc on your body.

Good luck. :)Bipolar teen or depressed?
It sounds like depression if it runs in your family. Bipolar is crazy. Supposedly it's the new schizophrenic.

i am the same way when i get less than 5 hours of sleep.

OR it could possibly be manic depression.
