I was watching this show (Extreme Cheapskates) and this woman who had six kids joined a babysitting circle, so she didn't have to pay for a babysitter. But if the average person has 2.5 kids, then doesn't that mean she's doing less work than the people who babysit her kids have to? For instance, she was sitting this one family with three kids but that's a heck of a lot less than the work of six. Is it fair?
BQ: This same woman had to cook dinner for the 9 kids (her six, the other three) so she made pizza with expired cheese ("it doesn't look moldy"), expired sauce ("it's in a tight package"), and "wild" salad AKA edible things she got from the park. Would you be bothered if someone fed your kid that?Parents, maybe I'm being a jerk, but does this seem fair?
I watched that. The first guy really pissed me off. He reused a card for his wife that someone else gave her and gave her dead flowers!! For their 25th wedding anniversary.
Anyway back to your question. Yes, that would make me mad. I have no problem watching one or two extra kids, but 6? Id have no time to even nurse my daughter! The food thing yes, that would get me too, cheese not as much as the other things but the wild salad... Thats just gross. Those kids were smart though.
Chickie: "Do you want salad?"
Kids:"No thank you!!!!"
I'm guessing 2.5 kids is an average. Anyways I understand why you are upset about the whole babysitting thing. She does end up babysitting less kids. Also I wouldn't like it if a kid was served expired food. That is an open door way to infestations and a hefty hospital bill.Parents, maybe I'm being a jerk, but does this seem fair?
I don't know about the "wild salad" part, but the rest sounds okay. Many foods are often fine to eat past their suggested use-by dates.
The babysitting circle thing just sounds a bit petty, to be honest.
How can someone have 2.5 kids? Back to your question. No, this does not seem fair.
BQ: That's just plain disgusting, this woman is an extreme cheapskate and yes I would feel bothered.Parents, maybe I'm being a jerk, but does this seem fair?
I'm not sure, I mean 6 kids plus 3 of someone elses would be the same as 3 kids plus of someone elses wouldn't it? so they are all doing the same amount of work.... ? I haven't seen the show but it sounds weird. I personally wouldn't leave my kids in a baby sitting ring.. I only leave mine with people I trust and if paying 拢20 for 3 hours means my kids are looked after by professionals if someone I trust couldn;t be present them it's worth the money... Your back question proves that it is a bad idea lol..
BQA: I wouldn't feed my own kids that $hit let alone someone elses. I would extremely bothered..
The babysitting thing... Everyone agrees who is in and who is not beforehand. So if I have one child and I agree to babysit this woman's basketball team, then it is fair. Personally, I wouldn't agree. I like my kids, I'm not so fired up crazy about other peoples. So I would just prefer to pay someone to watch just mine and then when I am home, I'm not bothered by someone else's children, be it 1 or 21.
As for the food thing... I guess it all depends seriously on the expiration date. Are we talking it expired January 1st and she is using it on January 5th? I'm fine with that... that's not a problem. Are we talking it expired on January 1st, 2009 and she is using it on January 5th, 2012! That's a slightly different ball of wax now, isn't it!? Same with the sauce. As for the "wild" salad... unless this woman is a botanist and she has studied plants and knows all the possible side effects, reactions, toxins and care... absolutely positively not! I have had wild salads in restaurants, I have eaten flowers on cakes... it is perfectly acceptable. But not if it is just my high school graduate neighbor pushing out a kid a year and she thinks the dandelions look tasty! NO! I would be FURIOUS!
