Healthiest take-out option for a pizza place?

We have a takeout night about once every 3 weeks as a treat. Even so, I never like to over indulge and enjoy eating healthily without taking it to the extreme. But I always have trouble knowing what's healthiest on the menu.

For instance, they offer chips and a salad. Would that be healthier than a chicken wrap with salad? Or is there something else on the average pizza menu that's even better than those two meal choices?

Please help, I'd really appreciate it. :) And I don't want to any responses saying "nothing is healthy on a take-out menu" because every food in the world has some element of nutrition. It's the quanitity that's the danger. :)Healthiest take-out option for a pizza place?
Seems to me that if this is a special once a month treat, you could afford to go with chips "just this once". What appeals to you at that moment, plus a salad, will make it the special dining out treat. Some of the local "pizza places" in my neighborhood also have wonderful home made soups. Soup and a salad, yes even with chips on the side, sounds like a good deal to me. I don't know what sort of dressing you like on your salad, but if you are that concerned about calories pass up the creamy ranch or creamy caesar dressings and opt for olive oil and vinegar dressing which is healthy. You could follow up with some nice fresh fruit when you get home. Maybe make up a fruit salad and keep it in your fridge to dip into.

Anyway, enjoy your special dinner out and BON APETIT!
Well truthfully no pizza place is healthy but you already know this =) But its still not bad too treat ur self every now and than... Just try to stay away from the fatty meats and add lots of veggies! Sorry I can't help you anymore, I hope I atleast helpped alittle!Healthiest take-out option for a pizza place?

Look for recipes and cook your OWN meals! much, thriftier than ordering take-out!!
Pizza isn't such a bad choice nutritionally, as far as fast food goes. It's the pepperoni, sausage, and other meats that people pile on that make pizza unhealthy. Toppings such as mushrooms, onions, fresh tomatoes, spinach, or roasted garlic, separately or in combinations, will add to the nutritional value of your pizza. Another problem is that people tend to overeat, so limit yourself to two slices. It's also a good idea to use paper napkins to blot any excess oil off your slices. If others in your group don't want veggies, most pizza places will put your toppings on just half the pie, or even only one-quarter of it, and charge you accordingly. It's admirable of you to order a chicken wrap from a pizzeria, but if it's supposed to be a treat, why not make it one.
