Do I Have Type 1 Diabetes?

I've been reading up a bit on diabetes and noticing the symptoms, I realized I have a lot of them:

the frequent urination (I go pretty often during the day, sometimes within the same hour)

Extreme thirst (lately I've been very thirsty. I finish off at least one whole water bottle just during the nighttime alone and at meals I drink around three talks glasses of milk)

Extreme hunger (lately I've been much hungrier than normal. I used to be able to eat about a burger or two slices of pizza at a meal but now it's at least double that)

Weight loss (it's natural in my family for the women to be thin but no matter how much I eat I really don't gain any weight. I do not exercise)

Exhaustion (I'm tired ALL the time. To the point where I just barely get out of bed because I'm just too tired to do much)

Wounds/infections won't heal (I've had several infections that have much difficult going away, despite following all my doctors orders. It also takes a long time for cuts to heal. Like I have had a small cut on my foot for two months that just won't heal fast at all)

I don't know if these symptoms mean I have diabetes or something else or if they're just normal. I'm 17 by the way, if that matters. Please give me your opinion on this!Do I Have Type 1 Diabetes?
Type 1 diabetes typically presents with all of the following: increased appetite, weight loss despite increased intake, increased thirst, increased urination, and feeling quite ill. You obviously have reason for concern and therefore you should see your physician as soon as possible for evaluation. I wish you the very best of health and happiness and in all things may God bless. Common symptoms of diabetes include:

Excessive thirst and appetite
Increased urination (sometimes as often as every hour)
Unusual weight loss or gain
Fatigue
Nausea, perhaps vomiting

In women, frequent vaginal infections
In men and women, yeast infections
Dry mouth
Slow-healing sores or cuts
Itching skin, especially in the groin or vaginal area
.Numbness or tingling in hands, legs or feet

Hope it isn't so but sure sounds like it. Go to a doctor or clinic and have them test your blood sugar.
I was thirsty before I was diagnosed. For me it was like a neurotic thirst. I didn't just drink a couple glasses, I literally would drink the entire container at one sitting and still feel insanely thirsty. I had also lost a significant amount of weight in a short time. I went from about 102 lbs to 82 lbs and I was only 18 years old. If you are worried about it you definitely should schedule an appt. with your doctor. For me, they ran a simple urine test. After the urine test indicated high sugar levels they then proceeded to a blood test.Do I Have Type 1 Diabetes?
How long have you had these symptoms? Type 1 diabetes (not to be confused with type 2 which mainly affects older people) comes on really quickly and within a couple of weeks, so if you've had these symptoms for a while its unlikely to be type 1 diabetes. They also become quite difficult to ignore quite quickly - the thirst you feel is beyond extreme - it's like a crazy thirst that's kinda indescribable to someone who hasn't experienced it. Another marker for needing the toilet excessively is if you go several times during the night. The chances are your symptoms are related more to being a teenager - growing etc. and drinking a lot is healthy for you but does mean you need to pee more! But it wouldn't hurt to get checked out by a dr just to make sure there's nothing else going on, diabetes or otherwise. Hope that helps xxx
