How to loose some weight? I'm 12..?

I calculated my BMI and it was in the average category, but if I gain a couple more pods like 2 or 3 then I'll be in the overweight category.. I thought I had a average day, here we go

I don't eat in the morning

I have to walk in between classes

4th pd I have a waterbottle

lunch I usually have chocolate milk with tator tots and whatever main food they serve (chicken nuggets, chicken patty, hot dog, nachos, etc.. pizza)

then at home I have a snack or two and eat whatever my family makes for dinner( which isn't a lot)

I also either have dance or gym (dance every 3 days, gym every other day)



and my Sis excersizes less then me and she is really skinny, so 2 questions, why is this? and how can I loose weight without hurting myself (like extreme exercising every day)How to loose some weight? I'm 12..?
First of all, don't skip breakfast! It jump starts your metabolism and you end up burning more calories throughout the day. Just make sure it's healthy and NOT a junky breakfast like Pop-Tarts or Egg McMuffins. Oatmeal, whole grain cereals, fruit and lean protein like egg whites are great.



Keep drinking lots of water. There's a million reasons why it's great for you and they're too numerous to list here, but one great benefit is clearer skin.



At lunch, swap the chocolate milk for skim milk or water. School lunches are notorious for being high fat and high calorie. Try making your own lunch so you know exactly what you're eating.



Snacking is good because it keeps your metabolism going. Choosing the right snacks is crucial. Skip cookies and chips and opt for fruits, veggies and nuts. Also, only eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. Mindless snacking while watching TV or surfing the Web can result in unnecessary consumption. If you get the urge to snack simply to snack, chew some sugarless gum.



As for dinners with the family, tell your Mom and Dad you'd like to eat healthier. Help them cook dinner and plan meals as a family. Go food shopping with your parents and see if you can swap out stuff your family gets for a healthier choice, like whole-wheat bread instead of Wonderbread. Changes to your diet will be easier to stick to if you have the support of your family. You'll also be less likely to resort to drastic measures like crash diets (which NEVER end well). Remember, portion control is also important, and restaurant portions are usually 2-3 times what a normal person should eat in one sitting.



It's great you do an athletic activity outside of gym class. Keep it up! If you want to take it further, enlist the family to go on a walk after dinner; it will also help your digestion. Or get up early and take a walk or go for a run; your performance in school will improve. If your schedule allows it, take another dance class or join an athletic team or sport. Your body will need more nutrition, so don't deprive yourself when you're hungry. Just make sure to snack smartly.



As for your sister's good fortune, you can only blame genetics. One of you takes after one relative and the other takes after another relative, not necessarily your parents. It could be Grandma or Uncle Joe. My sister takes after my Dad and my brother looks like our second cousin, and they look nothing alike!



For a 12 year old, you have a remarkably mature outlook on the situation and I applaud you for acknowledging that you shouldn't hurt yourself to achieve this goal. Skinny doesn't equal happy and you can't live your life by the number on the scale or the size of your jeans. Keep your sensible head on your shoulders and you'll be fine.
i have the same problem as you.your diet sounds pretty good, just watch what you eat. eat healthy. maybe work out more, go to the gym.How to loose some weight? I'm 12..?
just keep doing your dance and dont stuff yourself with to much junkfood. your sister is probablly just born more petite. also she might be thin boned and you might be big boned. everyone is diffrent.

im 12 too and I'm not a stick but I'm pretty skinny here are some tips that i do:

-Always eat breakfast without breakfast you will never loose any weight.
- Make your own lunch school lunches are really high in fat and not to healthy stuff
ex: 1 turkey and cheese sandwich with lettuce and/or tomato
then a fruit snack or some fruit with a bottle of water or juice or milk
-Before you eat lunch and dinner drink a whole bottle of water if you do that you will fill your self up and then eat your meal as well
- For a good breakfast you could have a yogurt with some fruit on the side
FOr an after school snack you can have carrots and dressing
Also, it is good your exercising but you could also try to do some running i do soccer which really helps me. don't compare yourself to your sister either she could have a faster metabolism then you and can just eat eat eat and I cannot do that either. So good luck and try my tips

Some people r skinnier than others!!! It's normal. Try eating more healthier foods!! Pack a lunch instead and bring fruits pretzels and maybe a sandwich!! I do dance too and I eat a bananas fruits and drink some milk before I dance!! So try eating those types of food instead but u can still have tater tots and pizza just not as often!! Also I do dance 2 hours on Monday and 1 hour on Tuesday!! U excercise more than me and I am very skinny!! So ur weight probably has to do with genetics and ur sister could have gotten different ones. Ask ur parents if they have had weight problems. also it could be the food u r eating and try eating some stuff I'm the morning!!!! I used to eat nothing and I would always feel like crap in the morning and my stomach would hurt!! Hope this helps!!!:)
